Fox ESS H3-PRO-20.0 for larger three-phase hybrid installations

Fox ESS H3-PRO-20.0 is a 20kW three-phase hybrid inverter designed for bigger sites that need more PV and storage capacity than the smaller H3 PRO entry model can provide. It sits in the middle of the larger H3 PRO range and combines three MPPT trackers, dual high-voltage battery inputs, FoxCloud monitoring and an IP65 outdoor-rated enclosure in a format intended for more demanding installations.

The model is particularly relevant where the site has already outgrown what a 10kW or 15kW inverter can sensibly deliver. That might be a larger agricultural system, a high-demand home with extensive three-phase loads or a light-commercial property where system scale, monitoring and battery throughput all matter.

Why 20kW is a meaningful step

Moving to 20kW three-phase output is not just about headline capacity. It changes the kinds of loads and system sizes the inverter can support comfortably. The H3-PRO-20.0 is aimed at projects where there is enough array capacity and site demand to justify a larger inverter, but where the product still needs to be recognisably part of a wall-mounted hybrid platform rather than a very large plant-room-only unit.

That makes it a useful middle-ground option for commercial and agricultural systems that are substantial, but not yet at the top end of the PRO range.

Three MPPTs and dual battery inputs

The official H3 PRO datasheet lists three MPPT trackers, which gives the H3-PRO-20.0 more layout flexibility on larger roofs and more complex string configurations. That matters when the system covers several building sections, different roof aspects or varied shading conditions. More MPPT freedom generally means a cleaner electrical design and fewer compromises at string level.

Fox also lists two battery inputs with 50A + 50A max charge and discharge current for the H3 PRO platform. Combined with high-voltage LFP battery support, that gives the inverter stronger battery-side capability than a simpler hybrid setup and makes it a better fit for storage-led projects.

Monitoring, communications and enclosure

The H3 PRO range supports FoxCloud monitoring and lists a broad communication set including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, optional 4G, RS485, USB, DRM and BMS CAN. That gives installers practical commissioning options and gives owners better remote visibility once the system is in use.

Fox lists an IP65 enclosure, smart fan cooling, a 600 × 560 × 225 mm body and a 52.5 kg net weight. Those details confirm the inverter’s place as a larger wall-mounted professional hybrid unit rather than a small domestic inverter pretending to cover a bigger role.
