The Sync Energy Link EVLS7MS is a 7.4kW, 32A single-phase charger with a surface-mounted Type 2 socket fascia and a separate metal control box. This arrangement separates the visible charging point from the circuit-protection enclosure, making Link a distinct installation proposition rather than another Wall Charger 2 body.

Surface Link versus recessed Link

EVLS7MS is the surface model. Sync Energy’s current sheet gives the visible front as 231 x 176mm and shows a 122mm surface depth. The recessed `EVLR7MS` is a different model with a shallower visible profile and must not be substituted in the catalogue or installation plan.

How the separate control box changes the job

The metal control box is listed separately at 316 x 176 x 101mm. The installer therefore needs suitable positions and routes for both elements, not just the visible socket. The control architecture includes Type A RCD, a 40A MCB and Type 2 surge protection, but the installer remains responsible for checking the complete supply and installation against the site conditions and current requirements.

Connected and energy-aware charging

The Wi-Fi/LAN `EVLS7MS` connects to the Sync Energy app and supports OCPP 1.6J. Sync Energy lists Auto Solar Charging for the Link range. Solar response and load management depend on the metering arrangement, CT position, commissioning and available generation; they should not be described as guaranteed free charging.

Select the cable separately

This is a socketed charger, so the vehicle cable is not permanently attached. Select a suitable Mode 3 Type 2 cable only after confirming the vehicle inlet and measuring the bay. Cable storage should be planned separately.
